What does a MOSFET do?A MOSFET (Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) is used to replace the standard electro-mechanical trigger switch in your AEG's gearbox with a more efficient solid state switch.  By installing a MOSFET switch, you also reduce the resistance in your AEG, making for an increase in trigger response.A MOSFET switching unit is more efficient than the standard trigger contact switch, therefore voltage drop is greatly reduced.  What this means is that you will be able to get more voltage from your battery to reach your motor; increasing your AEG’s rate of fire (ROF) by up to 30%.  Another benefit of using a MOSFET is that it  totally eliminates arcing between your trigger contacts, so they will never burn out while using high-voltage batteries.BOTTOM LINE: By using a MOSFET you will be increasing your AEG’s Rate of Fire as well as the lifespan of the trigger switch inside your gearbox. What does Active Braking do?Active braking has all the features of the standard MOSFET Unit, with one additional feature: it prevents motor over-spin.  Normally, when you pull the trigger in your AEG, momentum causes your gears to turn a little even after you let off the trigger.  This means that your spring is left in a partially compressed state; even if you fire it a few times in semi-auto.  Active braking takes this rotational energy and ‘burns it off’ in the form of heat.  This benefits your gun by improving trigger response and feel.  Your spring will also never remain partially compressed, taking that extra pressure off of your internals.By using an Active Braking MOSFET you will prevent motor over-spin as well as the partial compression of your spring.  In addition, you will see an improved trigger response and feel.
